Don & Vickie took their first major steps toward making the dream of full time farming a reality when they moved their family of six from Rockford, Illinois, to the surrounding cornfields. In their journey towards organic growing, they have developed a distinct passion to see the soil become healthy and alive.
At Anderson Organics, Don employs his love of working with his hands, solving practical problems, and fixing things while Vickie brings her eye for detail and a heart for hospitality to the operation.
In addition to the farm, Vickie has made her mark as one of the pioneers of the home school movement in Illinois. She currently teaches part-time at the Community School of Rockford. Together they are proud grandparents of five invigorating grandkids.
Philip and Kelli Anderson moved back to Rockford, Illinois, with their son, Elijah John, in October of 2009 to help start Anderson Organics. For the past 10 years, they have lived and worked as missionaries and pastors in Swaziland, Africa; Denver, CO; Fairbanks, AK; and Tampa, FL. They have also traveled in Asia doing evangelism, church planting, and prayer. Their latest addition, Gabe, joined the farm in 2011.
Their deep passions are prayer, worship and food! Over time, they hope to combine growing sustainable, organic produce on land where 24 hour prayer and worship is being offered to God, who is the greatest desire of their hearts.
